#217 MT Show – Gunnar Nelson (Nelson), Bumblefoot (GNR), Kirk Windstein (Crowbar), Shawn Crahan – Clown (Slipknot)

Overview: Wow what a helluva lineup on tonight’s MT Show! We had on some old friends as well as some new friends and the show rolled through like a steamroller! Heavy as hell and was a great listen. A really twisted mix on the show but we think you were able to find something in this show for everyone. From Nelson to GNR to Slipknot to Crowbar. Wow is all I have to say about this one! We had a new segment on the show, we added a “3 minute Metal News” segment, we had a contest, Photo Dave was in studio tonight.  Great show!

Gunnar Nelson : called in and Dom and Dave talked with him about his newest release “Lightning Strikes Twice”, music hiatus, the “sophomore effect”, his father, working with George Lynch and much more. A great way to start a show off!

Bumblefoot : BBF called in and we talked about so many topics, from working with Kat Perkins in the band Scarlet Haze to brief GNR  questions from the chatroom to his solo CD. It is always fun having him on the show.

Kirk Windstein : Crowbar/Down/Kingdom of Sorrow guitarist called in and we talked about everything from the newest Crowbar to being sober to MTV, and That Metal Show tattoo that he has. Great segment!

Shawn Crahan : AKA Clown from Slipknot was on with an exclusive interview with Kevin. The two talked about the newest project Black Dots of Death, upcoming tour with Slipknot, percussions, Paul Gray’s passing and so much more.

Overview: Exciting, fast paced show. Great interviews from the bands Forbidden and BrokeNCYDE, and especially the interview with Danielle Egnew (paranormal psychic and co-host of LATalkRadio.com The Haunted Playground.) We had contests, Dan W called in and we talked about the next MTMBOISD on January 30, 2011, welcomed alot of new listeners, the help from Joe DeFrank on the interview with Forbidden for shooting the video of the interview. Played alot of metal and some new material that we just received from Danielle Egnew. Also Dom played his review from the Fabulous Foods Show.

Forbidden: great interview, discussed tour, new release, the addition of Steve Smyth, being back on tour after so many years, and much more!

Danielle Egnew : Danielle called in and we talked about numerous topics from the paranormal to her radio show to playing guitar and the Minarik family, really nice segment.

BrokeNCYDE: Dom interviewed one of the frontman from the hip-hop, rock, crunk screamo band named Mikl. Cool segment, discussed their newest release, touring, their fans, the punk attitude when it comes to material and much more.

Neil Turbin: frontman for Death Riders and former vox for Anthrax talked about being in the music for the love of it, being on Maximum Threshold radio in the past, Rad Chad and so much more, a really awesome interview clip

Jonathan Montoya: came on to talk about phone reception in Tennessee and in Cleveland and how bad it is, being in Saliva, getting kicked out of the band and his reply to his departure, and so much more. Supernova Syndicate, Full Devil Jacket, record label and much more.  A must listen to interview!!! Over 35 minutes long.

Katon De Pena : frontman from the metal band Hirax came on to school Dom in a bunch of metal bands. Talked about Dio, “Get Thrashed” the movie and his role in it, wow there was so much covered from nightclubs in Tijuana to concerts in Germany. This interview was both funny and educational. I give it a 2 horns up.
